HOW TO GAIN ADMISSION TO AN AGED CARE FACILITY

Entry to an approved aged care facility must be approved by an Aged Care Assessment Team. The Adelaide Aged Care Assessment Team is based at the Lyell McEwin Health Service—telephone 81931234 and the Barossa Team can be contacted on 85 642996.

Should residential aged care be necessary for a person, telephone the assessment team and they will organise the necessary steps.

When approval is given, it will be either for “high care” (nursing home) or “low care” (hostel) accommodation depending on the need. Trevu caters for high care residents (nursing home).
